Steam Bent
Our Solid Series steam-bent shells bring to mind the sights and sounds of yesteryear. In the early days of drum building the technology to create thin, cross-laminated plies for making drum shells did not exist, so planks of solid wood were steamed and bent to form cylinders for drums. This is the origination of reinforcement rings which were added to the shells to help them stay in round. Our Solid Series re-creates this classic look and sound including rounded bearing edges, vintage triple flanged "stick saver" hoops, and our Solid Brass VTL Vintage Tube Lugs.
