Collection: Vented Snares
Vents add volume and brightness to the overall snare drum sound. You hear more of the snare side and notice increased sensitivity as the air escapes more quickly from the drum. Articulation is increased and "ghost notes" are louder in relation to full strokes compared to unvented snare drums. At the same time, vents will cause the drum to lose some body and resonance. Don't look to this style of drum for your fatback sound, but as a louder, more cutting snare it won't disappoint.
