I told Brian what I wanted as far as design and he produced it even better than I imagined. It sounds great, and it looks fantastic. A very unique snare for my collection. Thanks Brian!

Super sensitive response, sounds awesome through a wide tuning range, great tone, and it's durable, this is a great drum for any session.

My Microkit was delivered a week ago and I got it dialed in fast. This drum kit proves that size doesn't matter. The 20" bass drum sounds fantastic, as do the toms. I'd read good things about shallow tom depth and find it to be true. Plenty of volume, easy tuning, beautiful tone.
A few days after delivery, I played St. Patrick's Day at a dive bar on a small raised stage and this Microkit fit well. A small footprint even with hardware. I highly recommend this drum set for great sound, easy transport and high quality craftsmanship. Oh yea, another thing, Brian Spaun is a professional, fast response to my questions. Many thanks to Brain and Spaun Drums.

First time I’ve purchased a new set in 10 years and I couldn’t be happier with this kit! It’s a jaw dropper whenever I haul it to a show, it sounds amazing, and the communication when ordering the kit was great every step of the way!

Another great build from Brian! Loved the walnut he built for me had to get another one..copper this time. Couldn’t be more pleased.

My custom 40-ply snare exceeded all expectations and then some. The craftsmanship is impeccable, and the sound is incredible - from the softest ghost notes to hardest delivered attack , the sound quality is consistent, clean, crisp and never washes out. I opted for the wooden super hoop in black which added even more sound optionality - and combined with a black Remo head, made it an absolute visual stunner visually. Way to go guys - you nailed it!

Have had my kit for just about a decade now and it's still the best for playing live. Toms are punchy with my 14" floor having massive low end. My 13x7 matching snare has die cast hoops and absolutely cracks through mixes. Going to order another set for expansion this year. Can't say enough good things about these drums.

With joy I will put a photo of my beautiful 6x14 snare drum.
It's a pity that I lost the elastic band on the strainer. The elastic was weakly held on the strainer ... so it got lost. But overall this snare drum is very cool!

Very high quality snare drum.
Sounds dry and greasy! Suitable for all genres ... Well, maybe except for jazz ...)))

Yes, I spoke to the owner the day I was considering purchasing. Not only was he informative, but provided me with options that helped me pick which snare. I have already used it in various settings and I can honestly say it has surpassed my expectations. The sound and pop from the snare is top notch, and the LED’s themselves do not flicker. It’s a solid build and I definitely will be buying more and recommending this company to my drum community.

I’ve been playing Spaun since 05, & I will never need another kit from anyone!

Yup. That YouTube video sold me once I listened to it with good headphones on. And the best part is…I was able to get mine to sound even better!!! Amazing pop, rimshots and backbeats sound so raw and big and full it’s hard to believe it’s coming from a 13, let alone a 5.5” depth shell. I don’t like having the same drums as other people so I swapped for diecast chrome hoops and single ball chrome lugs and holy smokes…..it’s killer!!! I have an ambassador res head, and an emperor single ply batter, Puresound equalizer snare wires.

This is my second Spaun snare and both are superb in every way. The quality and craftsmanship are topnotch and obvious to both the eye and ear. This particular snare has a crisp, tight sound. And let's not discount the fact it looks just darn cool. For the money you'd be hard-pressed to find anything better.

I’ve been a professional drummer for nearly 4 decades and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve built, rebuilt, tuned and refined a custom Spaun kit in my head. I’ve had it scoped out, in my cart and a hand hovering over the “BUY NOW” button more times than I can count. Well, this year the planets aligned, and I pulled the trigger. All I can say is WOW. First, Brian Spaun could not have been nicer, more attentive, or responsive during the process. Yes, everything takes longer these days, but quality – REAL quality - should. Brian made sure I was informed throughout, and I think he was as excited to send me my kit as I was to get it.
OK, I have to say, before even pulling a stick out of the bag, these drums are gorgeous. The satin finish is darkly beautiful and lets the natural wood grain show through for a rich but subtle look. The black hardware lays perfectly into the shells and let’s the stunning wood do the work visually.
My 8x12 rack tom and 16x16 floor tom have a thick, warm sound that resonates a balanced and controlled tone even with the heads just slightly tightened. I prefer a boomy, low end sound from my toms, and these drums allow so much control that I can dial it in easily.
Ah, but the star of this show is the kick drum. It’s an absolute cannon and as responsive as an Aston Martin. With just slight tension on the resonant head, an EQ Pad muffler, and medium tension on the batter head I was able to make this monster absolutely growl. It’s a punchy, BIG sound but without any troublesome overring. The lug system is built for precision, and I’m sure you could dial this thing in like a Swiss watch, but this thing is crafted like a fine wine … you make it in the vineyard and try not to f$%k it up in the winery.
In summary, I love these drums. And, if I ever get a chance to meet my 20 year old self, I’m giving him Hell for not buying them back then!

This kit has been my work horse for a number of years. I’ve used it on countless tours and shows and it never ceases to impress me! It’s a huge talking piece with it’s nearly Holographic finish.
